12 Jul IBA Scholarship Deadline Quickly Approaching
As many Americans make efforts toward owning a home, the demand for knowledgeable and skilled builders has increased. The Indiana Builders Association aims to provide resources for both the builders of today and of the future. The Indiana Builders Association Educational Scholarship Foundation honors IBA’s long-time CEO, the late Bill Carson, by awarding scholarships to deserving students who have chosen building as their future vocation. Funds are presented to the student as a means of continuing industry education and excelling in their studies.
Scholarships are no less than $500 per school year and are non-renewable to ensure each student a fair chance in receiving the honor. Scholarships will be awarded to individuals interested in continuing their education in order to enhance in the building industry, whether it be a structured degree, certification, designation apprentice ship, or an approved continuing education class.
Eligibility for the award is contingent upon that student good standing within his/her school. Other requirements include being in or beyond the 12th grade, being a legal resident of the state of Indiana, residing in the jurisdiction of one of the Indiana Builders Association local chapters, and being enrolled in a construction technology program or a related construction field of study. Past recipients are eligible.
Each student will be judged according to academic achievement, prior work experience in construction or related trade, employer recommendations and specific career objectives.
If interested in this opportunity, applications must be submitted to the Indiana Builders Association by September 29, 2017. The announcement of the winning candidate(s) will be on December 31, 2017.

Note: The award is subject to change at the discretion of the Indiana Builders Association due to increased tuition cost, increased fund endowment and increase in the number of awards presented. The award will be deposited with the controller of the appropriate institution in the student’s name and is to be used for tuition and fees redemption only.
