02 Apr Rick Wajda Named State Executive Officer of the Year
INDIANAPOLIS (April 2, 2024) – The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recently honored Rick Wajda, Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Builders Association (IBA) based in Indianapolis, Indiana, as the 2023 State Executive Officer of the Year. The NAHB Executive Officer of the Year Award is designed to recognize the accomplishments of an outstanding Executive Officer who has contributed to the NAHB Federation during the prior calendar year.
“Building homes, enriching communities and changing lives are the key tenets of both NAHB’s mission and Rick’s drive in his daily work,” said NAHB CEO Jim Tobin. “Exhibiting excellence throughout his career and remaining committed to furthering the work of NAHB and the broader industry, Rick Wajda is an unquestionably qualified recipient of this award.”
Rick Wajda is the CEO of the Indiana Builders Association. As the IBA’s chief lobbyist, Rick works with members of the Indiana General Assembly and Indiana’s regulatory agencies to ensure housing affordability is taken into consideration when policymakers craft laws and regulations for Indiana’s citizens. Rick is also the Chairman of the Indiana Builders PAC and serves as a spokesperson for the industry on housing-related issues. Rick is a past President of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana and former Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of Indiana. Rick currently serves on the St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center Board of Directors.
The NAHB Executive Officer of the Year Award represents the highest level of dedication, loyalty, and commitment to promoting the value of membership and advancing the needs of the Federation. Wajda was honored on Feb. 29, 2024, during the Leadership Council Meeting in conjunction with the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
