14 Feb Rogers Awarded IBA’s Highest Honor in Housing
The Indiana Builders Association recently awarded the 2019 John C. Hart Presidential Award to State Sen. Linda Rogers of Granger, Indiana. Rogers is the owner of Judy Creek Golf Course in Granger, Indiana and serves as a State Senator for Indiana Senate District 11.
The award is named in honor of John C. Hart, Sr. who served as Chairman of the Indiana House Ways and Means Committee in the early 1970s. Hart was known for being instrumental in restructuring Indiana’s property tax system with then Governor Doc Bowen. Hart is also the only Hoosier to serve as President of the National Association of Home Builders and one of five Hoosiers inducted into the National Housing Hall of Fame.
“The John C. Hart Presidential Award is presented to an IBA member that we believe is an invaluable, and committed part of the association,” said IBA 2019 President Don Thieneman. “Linda is very deserving of this award. She is a valuable addition to the Statehouse as a state senator, and has been eager to continuously look out for Hoosiers and advocate on behalf of the construction industry”
Rogers has been an active member for 20 years in various capacities. At the state level she is a life director, past local president and past state president of the Indiana Builders Association and current board member for NAHB.
Rogers has spent nearly 40 years as a small business owner and leader in her community.
In 2015 she was recognized as Builder of the Year in her local HBA and then received the Beam Award the following year
